Beef Stir Fry with Asparagus, Mange Tout & Pak Choi

"A healthy quick weekday supper using hillfarm oil to make a quick marinade for the beef and packed with nutritious vegetables."

  • 150g British beef fillet, sliced
  • 2 tbsp hillfarm rapeseed oil
  • 20ml soy sauce
  • 20ml white wine
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp soft brown sugar
  • 1 small red chilli
  • 100g fresh asparagus, finely sliced
  • 100g mange tout, sliced
  • 100g pak choi, sliced
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds


  1. For the marinade vigorously stir together 1 tbsp hillfarm rapeseed oil, soy sauce, white wine, honey, ginger, garlic, chili and brown sugar.
  2. Place the beef fillet in a shallow dish and pour over the marinade. Place this in the fridge for 10 minutes to an hour (depending on how much time you have).
  3. Finely slice (or julienne) the asparagus, mange tout and pak choi.
  4. Put 1 tbsp rapeseed oil in a wok or heavy based frying pan and bring it up to a high heat – when the oil is hot add the marinated beef (scrape out the bowl so that all the lovely flavoured oil goes into the pan) and fry for one minute.
  5. Add the vegetables and fry for a further 3 minutes keeping all the ingredients moving the whole time. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the stir fry and serve immediately.
