Speedy Pizza

Why not involve the kids in making their own pizzas! We’ve had some fantastic pizza making parties - messy but fun!

For the dough
For the toppings
  • 20 Cherry tomatoes
  • 2 Handfuls of grated cheese (cheddar, red Leicester or crumbled goats cheese are delicious)
  • 2 tbsp hillfarm rapeseed oil
  • 4 tbsp Red pesto
  • Toppings of your choice – perhaps ham, salami, chorizo, chicken, peppers (piquant if you like a little chilli kick)
  • Rocket leaves – handful per person


  • Preheat the oven to 220°C/ gas mark 4
  • Rub the flour, salt, oil together until it looks like breadcrumbs, then add milk and stir until mixture comes together like a ball of dough.
  • Cut the dough into 4 and roll into 13cm circles across.
  • Lay the circles of dough onto a greased baking sheet, spoon a tablespoon of red pesto onto each and spread it evenly around creating a thin layer.
  • Quarter the cherry tomatoes and scatter on the pizza followed by the grated cheese and your chosen toppings.
  • Place in the oven for 10 minutes.  Drizzle each pizza with ½ tbsp of hillfarm rapeseed oil before serving with peppery rocket salad.
