Healthier chocolate brownies

Bringing all the flavour with none of the guilt, these rich chocolate brownies replace butter with rapeseed oil for a delicious treat that’s low in saturated fat. So pour yourself a cup of tea, grab a gooey slice of brownie, and enjoy!

Serves Makes 12


142g plain chocolate
110ml hillfarm rapeseed oil
2 eggs
113g self raising flour
113g caster sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 tablespoons cocoa powder


  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, and grease a 9 inch square baking tin
  2. In a non-stick pan, slowly melt the chocolate with the oil, and mix until smooth
  3. Beat the eggs, then stir thoroughly into the chocolate mixture
  4. Add the flour, sugar, vanilla essence and cocoa powder, and beat until combined
  5. Pour the mixture into the tin and bake in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes.
Cooks Tip:

Don’t worry about under-cooking these brownies, as they’ll be just as good with a sticky, chocolatey middle!
